Priya Mittal is 18 years old and a Freshman at Brown University.

Her passions include computer science, science research and visual arts.

Like most New Yorkers, I love to visit my local farmers markets. Over time, however, I noticed a pattern: people tend to avoid the "ugly" produce, often causing it to be wasted, because there is a misconception that imperfect implies unhealthy. After identifying a unique relationship between farms and restaurants, I was inspired to create GroGreen Tech because food waste is a universal issue. I hope that GroGreen Tech will benefit my community by reducing environmental waste, promoting nutrition, and stimulating local business. Please join me in feeding the movement- let's turn wasted food into wanted food, together!
